CHARACTERS

To celebrate 30 years of Street Fighter, Red Bull® Energy Drink collaborated with Capcom on an international promotional campaign connecting gaming culture, live events, and branded content.
As part of the celebration, bespoke costumes of Chun-Li and Ken were created to bring the characters into a physical, real-world context, supporting both live appearances and promotional activations.
The project formed part of a wider campaign that also included special edition Red Bull cans, reinforcing the visual identity of the collaboration. 

Chun-Li and Ken are globally recognisable characters with highly defined silhouettes, colours, and details.
The main challenge was translating these iconic designs into wearable, real garments while preserving their visual identity and proportions.
The costumes needed to perform reliably during live appearances, maintaining structure, comfort, and consistency throughout the activation.  

Both costumes were developed using tailored pattern construction, with close attention to silhouette accuracy and movement.
Materials were selected to balance visual fidelity, durability, and comfort, while finishes and surface details were carefully applied to reflect the original character designs without compromising wearability.
Structural reinforcement ensured the costumes maintained their shape during extended use, live appearances, and transport.
 
The finished costumes became a key visual element of the anniversary celebration, allowing Street Fighter’s characters to exist beyond the screen and within a live, branded environment.
Their recognisability and performance supported audience engagement and reinforced the connection between Red Bull®, Capcom, and the Street Fighter legacy.
